You will choose from a selection of key examples that will be available on the LMS in week 2, pairing a key image/video work with one of the subject readings. You can also choose your own visual example in consultation with the subject coordinator. For this analysis you need to answer the following questions:
• What is the key argument or arguments of the text?
• What visual elements of your chosen image/ film relate to the text?
• How can the text help us understand the chosen image/film and its role in society?
Although your primary focus in this task is analytical, you will need to draw on additional research materials to support this analysis. This means looking up references made in the texts, and other writers and artists who work with similar ideas to add depth and specificity to your analysis. You should also research your chosen image/video/ All research must be correctly referenced and cited, and key images included and labelled.
